Splitit expands presence in APAC with EFTPay deal

Splitit has announced a partnership with digital wallet services venture and partner of Alipay in Hong Kong, EFTPay.

It will now be able to offer its global monthly instalment payment solution to EFTPay merchants operating in Hong Kong and Macau, including Marriott, UGG, Kate Spade, Sunglass Hut and Estee Lauder.

“This partnership allows us to continue our growth and expand our presence in APAC. We are delighted to offer EFTPay merchants a simple way to boost sales and improve customer satisfaction by offering interest-free instalments at checkout,” says Andrew Pipolo, Splitit’s Executive Lead APAC.

Last week, we reported that Splitit had raised $30 million AUD in new equity, with plans to pull in up to $10 million AUD through a share purchase plan. This built on the closing of its initial public offering (IPO) earlier this year.

“We have seen rising demand for our one-of-a-kind solution,” said Gil Don, Splitit CEO and Co-Founder.  “We continue to grow at a rapid pace; we now serve hundreds of merchants in 27 countries. We look forward to continuing this strong trajectory, expanding our sales team as well as our product and R&D teams to bring interest- and fee-free instalment payments to further merchants and shoppers across the globe.”
