Dave & Buster’s and Coca-Cola tap Zippin tech for checkout-free experience

Working with Coca-Cola and Dave & Busters, Zippin has launched what is pitched as the first in-restaurant checkout-free store in Hollywood, Florida.

The Game & Go location is stocked with a variety of food and Coca-Cola beverages to offer Dave & Buster’s gamer customers quick snack options in addition to stopping by the bar or sitting down for a meal.

Christina Ruggiero, President, North America Operations - Central Zone at The Coca-Cola Company, says: “Consumers crave the freedom to explore and enjoy more drink options than ever before.”

Director of Operations for Dave & Buster’s, Tim Murphy, comments: “I think anything that can enhance the guest experience and make it faster and quicker and offering some new products, that’s what makes it important for Dave & Buster’s.”

Last week, Al Meera Consumer Goods Company announced a partnership with Zippin.

The Qatar-based company said that it would soon open fully autonomous stores, powered by Zippin’s AI tech, in strategic locations to provide visitors with snacks, beverages, grab-and-go meals and other essential items in “a seamless and cashier-less process”.

An Al Meera spokesperson commented: “We are excited to introduce these new checkout-free stores to make shopping more convenient and fun for our customers.”

“This step is part of our expansion plans to ensure that our services are always within the reach of all consumers.”

“In addition, it is in line with the country’s strategy to achieve digital transformation, using modern technology solutions to promote cashless payment solutions and facilitate economic growth in accordance with Qatar National Vision 2030.”

They added: “These stores will enable our customers to quickly grab their drinks and snacks, and complete their transactions seamlessly. We continuously strive to keep pace with the growing demands of customers in a digital dominated era.”

The first outlet is planned to its open doors to customers during the 2022 FIFA World Cup, scheduled to take place in Qatar from 20th November to 18th December.
