Tesco to trial Curry PC World concessions in big stores
Tesco has inked a deal with Dixons Carphone to trial two Currys PC World concessions within Tesco Extra stores. The first is scheduled to open in July at the grocery giant's Milton Keynes Extra store, followed by a second concession at its Weston Favell Extra store in Northampton during August.
A range of Currys PC World products will be on offer, including televisions, computers, white goods and accessories. Laptop repairs, advice and comparison services - allowing customers to explore switching broadband and energy supply - will also be available.
Tesco already has third-party outlet deals with the likes of Arcadia and Holland and Barrett. Matt Davies, UK CEO, says: “We’re always looking at ways to offer our customers the best possible range of services in our stores. We think this is a winning combination for customers and look forward to opening the first outlet in our Milton Keynes store in July.”
Katie Bickerstaffe, UK&I CEO at Dixons Carphone, says: “Customers tell us they want to pick up the latest electrical products conveniently and at competitive prices, with expert advice and from someone they trust to keep them working seamlessly. This trial gives them all of this during a weekly grocery shop, which we hope they will enjoy.”
Sainsbury's trialled Argos concessions in its larger stores before buying owner Home Retail for £1.1 billion pounds last year.
