Amazon Go takes New York and accepts cash
Amazon Go has opened its 12th branch, the venture announced on Twitter today.
Located on Vesey Street in New York, the store is the city's first branch of Amazon Go, which made its debut in the e-commerce giant’s home town of Seattle.
Cash will be accepted, following a backlash Stateside against cashless stores. Philadelphia has already banned these outlets and other cities are following suit, including San Francisco and Chicago, amidst fears that people from low-income households, who don’t have smartphones or online bank access, could be adversely affected.
