Moda Operandi gives Bambuser tech a spin

Bambuser has inked a live video shopping deal with online fashion retailer Moda Operandi.

This, according to a press release, will initially run for six months and is “based on a fixed monthly licence fee, as well as a variable part depending on usage”.

Bambuser declined to reveal specific numbers as the agreement is “driven by a combination of a number of different parameters”, including the number of markets, brands, viewers and view length, broadcasts and broadcast length, transmitted data volume, stored data volume for previously performed broadcasts, desired video quality, and additional services.

“Since its inception, Moda Operandi has been at the forefront in the luxury segment when it comes to enhancing the customer experience with the help of modern technology combined with its unique curation of fashion,” says Maryam Ghahremani, CEO at Bambuser.

New CTO

Late last year, Arpan Nanavati joined Moda Operandi as Chief Technology Officer.

He was previously at WalmartLabs, where he headed up technology for the online grocery division. Prior to that, he worked at PayPal, leading technology teams for products such as PayPal Checkout, and has also held engineering leadership roles at Nickelodeon Studios, Zynga and Adobe.

Ganesh Srivats, Moda Operandi’s CEO, said: “We’re focused on merging our fashion authority with a prowess in technology and innovation - a combination we feel confident will drive our next phase of growth.”

“Arpan has helped build some of the most advanced and now ubiquitous e-commerce products on the market, and we’re thrilled for him to bring that experience to Moda as we work to shape the future of the fashion industry for our customers and designers.”
