Marks and Spencer takes Mobile Pay Go nationwide

Marks and Spencer has increased its Mobile Pay Go network from 100 to 310 stores.

The service enables customers to buy their groceries (up to the value of £30) without visiting a till, using the M&S mobile app.

The latest roll-out move marks a shift from predominantly London-based stores to a UK-wide offering. M&S is hoping to pull people in with extensive décor and Point of Sale at all 310 stores, inviting customers to download the app and give the offering a try.

Customers are also invited to refer a friend to the technology; both they and their friend will be rewarded with £1 off their next shop.

Helen Milford, Director of Stores at M&S, says: “As part of our Never the Same Again programme, we’re accelerating the pace of our transformation – and that includes creating digitally connected stores that are fit for the future.”

“This roll-out takes our Mobile Pay Go technology nationwide for the first time. With more customers starting to return to the workplace, this provides a quick and convenient lunchtime solution – making it easy to pop in, grab your items and be on your way.”
