Ikea Singapore online store goes live
Ikea has launched its e-commerce channel in Singapore, with Malaysia set to follow in mid-2018.
Previously, Ikea Singapore's website was a virtual extension of its print catalogue. The new site has been live for a few weeks, but Ikea is making the launch official this week. This is part of the retailer’s plan to go global with its e-commerce operations, which started with the UK last year. In terms of Southeast Asia, Malaysia will be followed by Thailand, the Philippines and Vietnam.
Ikea has had a presence in Singapore since the 1970s. It doesn't, however, have stores in the Philippines or Vietnam, so will face more of a challenge during those roll-outs.
