Forever 21 doesn’t do Bitcoin, OK?
Fast fashion retailer Forever 21 has taken to Twitter to inform customers ‘NO we do not currently accept #Bitcoin pls stop asking us lol’.
As of Friday morning, the message has had 1,234 retweets and 4,720 likes. Somewhat unsurprisingly, given that Forever 21 targets a younger demographic, the replies have been largely negative, including ‘First rule of Amazon success is always focus on the customer. You’re on the path of Sears. Consulting free of charge’, ‘Then it's time to shift your target demographic up a bit. 60-95 should be a safe age range’ and ‘Remember that company that used to rent DVDs and VHS to people before companies like Netflix and Amazon Prime were invented. What was their name again? Something about feeling to innovate and keep up with the times...’
The Bitcoin snub closely follows the retailer’s admission that, from 3rd April to 18th November last year, hackers were able to harvest payment card details from PoS terminals in some of its US stores. Check out its statement here.
