Ubamarket preps Warner's Budgens roll-out
Startup Ubamarket’s white label mobile shopping solution will launch across Warner's Budgens' portfolio next week, following a trial in its flagship store in Moreton-in-Marsh. Guy Warner, MD at Warner’s Budgens, says: “I’m delighted to be the first store in the world to offer a completely white labelled version of Ubamarket to our customers. We’ve already seen fantastic results in our Moreton store and are now excited to offer it to all our customers.”

By tracking a shopper’s goods, live automated offers and real-time loyalty tracking, the IOS and Android solution, invented by entrepreneur Will Broome, eradicates the need for queues, plastic bags and loyalty cards. Customers enter a shopping list on their phone and the app locates the items and arranges them in the order they can be found. They then scan the barcodes as they go and, when they’re done, the app takes care of payment.
To coincide with the launch, Ubamarket has released a 2018 Retail Trends Report. 71% of the 2,000 online shoppers surveyed were frustrated with their e-commerce supermarket experience. 43% of the UK does not buy food online and 7.6 million consumers struggle to find items in-store. For 28% of Brits, grocery shopping is their least favourite retail experience. 73% have changed their mind and decided not to buy something, due to the size of a queue.
