Birks Group claims a Bitcoin first in Canada

Jewellery manufacturer and retailer Birks Group has rolled out Bitcoin payments at eight stores in Canada via a partnership with BitPay. It claims to be the first luxury retailer in the country to accept the cryptocurrency.

“It is of great significance for us to launch BitPay,” says Jean-Christophe Bedos, President and Chief Executive Officer of Birks Group. “As an internationally growing brand, we believe that BitPay will benefit our customers as we look to align ourselves with these innovative capabilities that are on the forefront of technology.”
