Starling Bank makes merchant acquiring move

UK challenger bank, Starling, has announced its entry into merchant services. This will enable its business banking customers, payment services clients, e-commerce business owners and small to mid-sized retailers to accept card payments from the likes of Visa, Mastercard and American Express via any channel.

Julian Sawyer, Chief Operating Officer, Starling Bank, says: “The roll-out of merchant acquiring is an important milestone for Starling as we seek to join the dots of the payments value chain and offer new services that continue to benefit our customers. Our goal is to offer next generation acquiring services simply, quickly, and cost-effectively – so that our customers can focus on what’s really important to their business.”

Starling Merchant Services will be rolled out in 2018. Registration is now open here
