BBVA kickstarts invisible payments initiative
Written By Staff Writer
Spanish bank, BBVA, is running an ‘invisible payments’ trial at some of its staff cafeterias and restaurants.
More than 1,000 employees are using an app at Ciudad BBVA and testing has begun on a biometric facial recognition system based on tech from startup Veridas. The app lets staff reserve a table, eat and leave without asking for the bill. They just need to alert the waiter, who will verify their reservation in the system so that the bill is automatically registered to their account.
