Amazon makes progress in France with Monoprix deal
Monoprix is to start selling its products to customers in Paris through Amazon’s Prime Now service this year.
“We are further differentiating and increasing our unique position as an urban omnichannel leader,” says Régis Schultz, Chairman at Monoprix. “We will benefit from the most comprehensive grocery delivery service in Paris. All Prime members can immediately download the Prime Now app, available on iOS and Android devices, or visit www.primenow.fr to find eligible delivery postcodes, place orders and track the status of their delivery in real-time or request notification when the service is available in their area.”
France is a key part of Amazon's bid to build a global grocery offering to rival the supermarket chains. It has run its Prime Now delivery service in Paris since 2016. “Everyone wanted to try and work with Amazon, but it’s Monoprix which has won the day,” Schultz told France’s Europe 1 radio.
