PizzaExpress apologises for misfiring mobile app
PizzaExpress’ much hyped new waiter-less payment app, set to be available across its 470+ restaurants, is experiencing some teething troubles.
Last night, customers took to Twitter to complain that they were unable to download it. PizzaExpress responded: ‘It's getting hot in here! Our app is in high demand right now, we're working hard to ensure it is up and running ASAP. Thank you for bearing with us. Watch out for further updates…we promise it’s worth the wait’.

The offering runs on Flyt’s technology platform, with its ‘pay at table’ function and an integrated vouchers service from Eagle Eye also being integrated. Timothy Love, Senior Marketing Manager at PizzaExpress, comments: “We are always looking at ways we can improve our customers’ experiences and our new app will do just that. The ‘pay at table’ function by Flyt is perfect for those who would rather spend time eating our delicious pizza than sorting out the bill. By listening to our customers, we’ve understood what’s important to them and are introducing a more personalised service, including bespoke rewards. We don’t call it PizzaExpress for nothing.”
