PayPal announces Jetlore acquisition

PayPal is to buy Jetlore, a startup that specialises in artificial intelligence-powered retail technology, for an undisclosed sum.

Headquartered in California, Jetlore was founded in 2011 by Ph.D. students from Stanford University's computer science programme. Its proprietary prediction platform enables online retailers such as Uniqlo and Nordstrom Rack to deliver personalised customer experiences.

“With Jetlore’s talent and AI-powered technology, we will enhance and accelerate PayPal Marketing Solutions, adding new capabilities that continue to expand PayPal’s value proposition for merchants beyond the online check-out experience,” says Harshal Deo, VP, Commerce Solutions, PayPal.“We share Jetlore’s passion for creating amazing – and personalised – customer experiences and believe their capabilities will accelerate our ability to help merchants optimise content and communication for their customers.”
