Tudecora claims cashier-free store first in Spain

Online venture Tudecora has opened the first furniture store in Spain without shop assistants and commercial hours.

This is situated in Guadalajara. A mobile application allows customers to open the door of the store where a system of sensors and cameras is in place. When the customer is located about 10m from the door, they open the mobile app and then activate the Bluetooth system. Two options will appear: 'open' and 'close', the customer clicks the the first of these and then the metal closure of the store opens.

They can then see and touch the furniture on display and place an order on a touchscreen device. When they’re done, they return to the app, press the option 'close' and wait for the door to be closed.

A telephone number is available just in case customers have any questions whilst browsing and purchasing.
