Amplience raids Accenture for new CSO

Brian Walker has joined retail tech firm Amplience as Chief Strategy Officer.

James Brooke, CEO at Amplience, comments: “Brian brings a tremendous amount of experience and insight into the changing needs of businesses as they adapt to a rapidly evolving customer and the shift to cloud and API first architectures and solutions. Brian’s deep understanding of the commerce and digital customer engagement ecosystem will help us further accelerate our growth in North America and global markets.”

Walker most recently led global strategy for Accenture’s commerce and CX practice. Prior to that, he served as a Chief Strategy Officer at SAP where he headed up strategy, marketing, channel and corporate development for the SAP Hybris and the Customer Engagement and Commerce business unit. As Vice President and Principal Analyst at Forrester Research, Walker authored reports in online and omnichannel commerce, and he has also held senior roles at Expedia, Amazon, Otto Group and Eddie Bauer.

“We are in the midst of a significant transformation in the market, with the strategic nature of their digital channels now amplified, the imperative to personalise and contextualise the customer experience, and the need to dramatically streamline and scale the content and customer experience capabilities," he says.

"And of course, this is in the context of an equally transformative move to cloud and micro-services technology architectures to enable innovation and agility. Amplience is uniquely positioned in the marketplace to enable clients to meet these strategic imperatives and evolve how they do business.”
