SumUp and Treatwell announce payments partnership

SumUp has teamed with online hair and beauty marketplace Treatwell to allow the latter’s merchants to take contactless and NFC payments.

This will be done via the Treatwell Connect app and processed by SumUp, with the SumUp Air terminal connecting to the merchant's smartphone via Bluetooth.

“Our mission is to empower businesses worldwide no matter how unique, small or mobile. This passion to support and help entrepreneurs thrive is something we share with Treatwell and this partnership is a step towards making 25,000 Treatwell merchants Europe-wide succeed by offering them card acceptance,” says Marc-Alexander Christ, Founder of SumUp.

“Empowering merchants means giving them the opportunity to grow, whilst retaining control of their business and making sure it goes in the direction that they want it to. Accepting card and NFC payments is a chance for small businesses to target more consumers, potentially growing their revenue, but it lets them do it in their own way and at their own pace.”
