PCMS brings in retail veteran as it expands global presence
Retail technology venture, PCMS, has announced the hiring of Peter Ludi as its first Territory Executive for Africa, Australia and New Zealand.
"I've long been aware of PCMS, and believe in its philosophy of 'serving the customer's customer first'. At PCMS we have enormous intellectual property and capability based in our UK and US teams, coupled with strong local market understanding. This is an appealing combination for local and global retailers looking to grow and future-proof their businesses in these regions,” he says.
Ludi is based in South Africa, where PCMS has several customer relationships, including a partnership with supermarket chain Pick n Pay. He has spent more than 35 years in retail, having started as an internal auditor, also working as cashier and warehouse manager before overseeing multi-million dollar IT projects, hundreds of new store openings across seven countries and specialised in store profitability programmes.
PCMS Group Chief Commercial Officer Jon Stretton, comments: "Peter is a great addition to our global team. His local expertise, technological understanding and willingness to dig into complex operational issues will help us to serve new and existing customers even more efficiently and cost-effectively."
