eBay makes key technology appointments

eBay has announced the appointment of Pete Thompson as Senior Vice President and Chief Product Officer and Mazen Rawashdeh as Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer.

Thompson joins from Amazon where he served as Vice President of Alexa Voice Service. Rawashdeh spent eight years in technology leadership roles with eBay from 2003 to 2011 before departing to serve as Vice President, Infrastructure Operation Engineering at Twitter. After four additional years as an angel investor and tech advisor, he returned to eBay in 2016 to lead platform engineering. 

Thompson and Rawashdeh are joined by Scott Gaffney, most recently of Yahoo, as Vice President of Search Engineering, and eBay veteran Steve Metz, who returns to the company from Amazon to serve as Vice President of Product Analytics.
