Klarna tackles Arsenal on Twitter over Wilfried Zaha transfer bid

Klarna has scored some major PR points at the expense of Premier League club Arsenal.

The Gunners are interested in bringing Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha to the Emirates this summer. The Sun reports that they proposed paying £40 million over the course of five years. Crystal Palace, who rate the player at £120 million, labelled the bid ‘embarrassing’.

Somewhat unsurprisingly, the offer was mocked by footie fans on social media. Klarna joined in and produced one of the best tweets. In response to a Twitter user claiming Arsenal were ‘doing a Klarna’, the PayTech venture said: “Sorry @arsenal we don’t do Pay in 5 years, we do Pay in 3 instalments in the UK. Or you could always use our Pay later in 30 days. Then if @wilfriedzaha doesn’t work out you can send him back before the window closes.  #ZahaNowPayLater”.

Well played, Klarna, well played.
