Life after Karen Millen: Rob Mole joins WED2B

Rob Mole has taken on the role of Business System Analyst at wedding dress and bridal wear retailer WED2B.

He was previously Project Manager - IT and Business Change at Karen Millen, which, along with Coast, was recently bought out of administration by boohoo for £18 million, with the pureplay announcing that more than 200 UK outlets were to close, putting up to 1,100 jobs at risk.

In a LinkedIn post, Mole commented: “News moves on quickly, especially in the world of retail, but for a lot of people the financial and mental fall out of Boohoo takeover of Karen Millen/Coast is still raw. I am starting an exciting new position and felt it was the right time to post some thoughts.”

“Having witnessed a company being placed in administration for the first time, the speed and business brutality of this process although efficient, (as I understand it needs to be) is quite shocking on a purely personal level. The mental effects of this process should not be underestimated although it appears they are completely overlooked as, this is business,” he added.

“In my time at Karen Millen/Coast I have been lucky to work with some talented and brilliant people within the company and beyond. I have no doubt that some of you have secured exciting new opportunities and for others the next one will be just round the corner.”

Mole has also worked for Cegid Group, as Business Consultant, and Retail Assist, as Retail Business Analyst.
