The Beyhive savages Sainsbury’s over Beyoncé gag

Beyoncé’s fans have blasted Sainsbury’s for flagging up similarities between the singer’s new Ivy Park range and its own uniforms.

On Friday, the first collection from Beyoncé’s collaboration with Adidas went on sale. Quicker than you can say ‘top publicity stunt’, the Twitter peeps at Sainsbury’s shared a photo of a model in one of their uniforms.

The grocery giant was “the original” and had been “repping since 1869”, it joked. The aforementioned picture also featured the hashtag #SainsBey.

Beyoncé obsessives (we mean supporters) were not amused. “Jokes on you because everyone would rather shop at Asda and Tesco’s OR EVEN MORRISONS before sainsbury’s,” one Twitter user said.

Another fumed: “Not y'all trying to drag when your sales been falling for three quarters straight. Let's talk about it.”

Many others, however, defended Sainsbury’s. “I am loving all the weird Beyoncé fans picking fights with a UK supermarket because they made a pretty decent joke about their queen. I mean it literally looks like their uniforms,” said @LisaJaneAllison.

The Beyhive, ladies and gentleman. Totally cray cray.
