Adyen lands Hakkasan UK payments deal

Adyen has announced a partnership with Michelin starred restaurant chain, Hakkasan, covering its London site and sister restaurant Sake no Hana in Mayfair.

To cater to the growing number of Chinese tourist customers, Hakkasan will provide the option to pay with local methods such as Alipay, UnionPay and WeChat Pay.

Through Adyen’s integration with the Oracle Simphony PoS solution, customers will also be able to tap into pay at table functionality, including the ability to print the bill, split the bill and add custom tips.

McDonald’s

A good start to 2020, then, for Adyen who also wrapped up 2019 with a major contract win.

It will power international mobile app payments for McDonald’s, starting in the UK this year.

“With Adyen’s scalable platform, we will be able to continue to provide customers a seamless experience through a variety of payment methods that align with the unique needs of our markets,” said Leandro Balbinot, SVP of Global Technology and Digital at McDonald’s. “We look forward to rolling out this platform in several markets internationally, beginning with the UK in early 2020.”
