Walmart brings time saving innovations to new Miami store

Walmart has opened a new tech heavy Neighborhood Market store in the Miami area.

This builds on its Intelligent Retail Lab in New York and InHome Delivery service in Kansas City, Pittsburgh and Vero Beach.

Situated in Coral Way, Florida, it includes same-day grocery delivery and large basket self-checkout lanes that give the customer the option to scan groceries themselves or have a member of staff assist with the transaction. Employees can also check customers out anywhere in the store using handheld store devices.

“Associates across the country tell us they want to spend less time on repetitive tasks and more time helping customers,“ says Patrick Shanks, Regional Vice President, Neighborhood Market Operations, Walmart. “By expanding self-checkout and adding Check Out With Me, associates will be on the sales floor where they can help customers – fast.”
