Morrisons extends teacher discount to all teaching and support staff
On Thursday, we reported that Morrisons had become the first major UK supermarket to announce an in-store discount for teachers and school staff.
Recognising their efforts in keeping schools open during the coronavirus pandemic and ensuring key workers with children can continue to work, the 10% discount will kick off on Monday and run until 3rd January 2021. It will cover both groceries and Nutmeg clothing.
Further details here.
Morrisons has now announced that, after listening to feedback, it is extending the discount to all teaching and support staff who work with children aged 18 and under.
This includes all teachers, teaching assistants, childcare workers, janitors, catering staff and office staff directly employed by: private nurseries, local authority nurseries and pre-schools; primary, secondary, private and special educational schools; sixth form colleges and further education colleges.
David Potts, Morrisons Chief Executive, says: “Teachers and school staff are facing many challenges and the education of our children has never been more important. This discount is our way of saying thank you as they continue to care for and educate our kids.”
NHS workers
NHS workers can shop with Morrisons between 6am-7am Monday-Saturday during a dedicated hour, and 9-10am on Sunday. They can also get 10% discount off their shopping,
