Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda should follow Morrisons teacher discount lead
Morrisons recently became the first major UK supermarket to announce an in-store discount for teachers and school staff.
Recognising their efforts in keeping schools open during the coronavirus pandemic and ensuring key workers with children can continue to work, the 10% discount runs until 3rd January 2021.
It covers both groceries and Nutmeg clothing. Further details here.
All of us at Morrisons would like to say thank you to the nation's school teachers. We're offering a 10% discount on your shopping in store, from this Monday until after Christmas.

Somewhat surprisingly, Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Asda have yet to follow suit.
England is currently under a second coronavirus lockdown, which is due to end in early December.
Pubs, restaurants, gyms, non-essential shops and places of worship have closed, but schools, colleges and universities are staying open. People are being told to stay at home unless they have a specific reason to leave, such as work and education.
With that in mind, Tesco et al are, in our humble opinion, missing a golden PR opportunity by not offering teachers etc a discount on their shopping.
