Alibaba Group wants a piece of Farfetch

Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba Group is in advanced talks to invest around $300 million in luxury fashion platform Farfetch.

The two companies are also discussing a joint Chinese venture.

Alibaba rivals JD.com invested $397 million in Farfetch in 2017 and Tencent put in $125 million earlier this year.

Bambuser deal

Last month, Stockholm-headquartered startup Bambuser entered into a live video shopping pilot agreement, worth £35,000, with Farfetch.

This will kick off during the autumn and will run for six months, featuring support for English, Japanese, Chinese and Arabic languages.
