Boots deploys protein shakes vending machine at Manchester store

Boots has deployed a vending machine that serves up protein shakes for shoppers.

Created by Bio-Synergy, this has launched at the retailer's Wellness & Health store in Manchester. Boots claims that the machine is a UK first.

Boots is keeping stores open during the second UK coronavirus lockdown, which started yesterday and runs until early December.

In an email to customers, See James, Managing Director, Boots UK and ROI, said: “We have been at the heart of the High Street for 171 years, and for each one of those years we have been there for communities across the UK.”

“This has never been truer than in 2020 and as we enter a new phase of lockdown, we will continue to be there; proud to serve our customers and patients, and to support the NHS.”

He added: “We will keep our stores and pharmacies open throughout the lockdown so that you can access the products that you need, as well as pharmacy services, prescriptions and advice.”

“When you visit us, you will be able to shop the whole store including health, wellness, baby, beauty and everything else that we usually sell.”
