Farmstead lands RTIH best retail tech vendor award
US online grocer Farmstead has emerged triumphant in the Technology Vendor of the Year (Rest of World) category at the 2020 RTIH Innovation Awards, sponsored by PMC.
The award sits alongside the Technology Vendor of the Year (UK) category, and celebrates companies that have developed innovative technologies and worked with retailers to transform the customer experience or back-end operations or both.
Farmstead impressed our judging panel with its dark store model and for making its in-house grocery delivery software Grocery OS available to other retailers.
Sharon Peters, Head Of Technology - Marks and Spencer, HR, Finance, Corporate Services and M&S Bank, comments: “Farmstead seems like a really great commercial model but also a firm eye on sustainability.”
“I can see that this would meet the needs from a wide range of customer personas. I was definitely sold! A lot of customers now to shop local and this is feels like a step towards this one.”
“We are very honoured to receive Tech Vendor of the Year from RTIH,” says Pradeep Elankumaran, CEO at Farmstead. “Our AI technology is at the heart of what we do, allowing us to deliver high quality groceries for free at better prices than local supermarkets.”
He adds: “This year, we were able to launch Grocery OS to help grocers take delivery in-house, expand our service to the East Coast, and close our Series A funding.”
“Our technology and dark store model will allow us to expand quickly in 2021, and we are excited to bring our nimble new online grocery service to more cities across the US.”
