Danone taps blockchain tech for Track & Connect launch
Danone is gearing up to roll-out a baby formula Track & Connect service.
Powered by blockchain, serialisation and aggregation technology in combination with QR code packaging, this will enable every baby formula pack to be traced back to the date and time it was produced in Danone’s factories.
“We’re very pleased to be rolling out this service to consumers and retailers in 2020,” says David Boulanger, Sr. Vice President, Operations, Danone Specialised Nutrition.
“Thanks to this innovation in packaging and data management, we’ll be able to offer one of the most comprehensive traceability services in the baby formula industry and connect more closely to our consumers and retailers to offer them after sales services they value.”
Track & Connect will initially launch in China for the Aptamil and Nutrilon brands. The plan is to roll out the service in France during 2020 for Laboratoire Gallia and in Germany, Australia and New Zealand for Aptamil and Karicare.
