Deliverr announces major Series C deal

Deliverr has closed a $40 million Series C round led by Activant Capital.

Other investors in the online fulfilment startup include 8VC, GLP and Flexport founder and CEO Ryan Peterson. The company has raised a total of $70 million.

It will use the cash to advance its machine learning capabilities for predicting demand and stock warehouses accordingly. It will also build out “fast, affordable shipping programmes across new major online marketplaces” and scale its team across the venture’s three offices in San Francisco, Chicago and Toronto.

“We now live in a world where consumers expect their online purchases to arrive at their doorstep almost instantaneously,” says Steve Sarracino, Founding Partner, Activant Capital. “While massive businesses like Amazon have the scale and expertise to make this a reality, the vast majority of online retailers simply can’t meet this expectation on their own. That’s where Deliverr comes in.”

“It is filling the gap between what shoppers demand and what online retailers offer. We’re thrilled to be investing in the company because of the critical role they’re going to play as the way we shop continues to evolve,” he concludes.
