Tesco raids RSA for major security hire
Simon Devlin will join Tesco next month as Head of Security Architecture.
The job spec is as follows: “You will be responsible for building and evolving the security capability that ensures our applications and infrastructure are securely developed and a positive security culture is embedded into the working practices of our application development teams.”
“The team deliver security services globally to maintain and continuously improve Tesco's security posture in an ever evolving cyber security landscape using state-of-the-art tools and in-house proprietary techniques.”
Devlin is currently Programme Security Architect at insurance group RSA. He has also worked for Fujitsu UK, the Home Office and Aviva.
“One of the things that really came across during the interview process was the breadth and scale of Tesco’s operations, plus the level of technical innovation. I'm very much looking forward to being part of the team,” he says.
Clubcard
Up to 620,000 Tesco Clubcard accounts may have been subject to fraudulent activity, the grocery giant recently said.
Password and username combinations may have been stolen from other websites and used to try to access Tesco accounts where customers used the same username and password. Further details here.
