Software engineering veteran Andy Hedges departs Amazon for Facebook

Andy Hedges has taken on the role of Software Engineering Manager at Facebook.

He joins from Amazon where he held the position of Director, Software Engineering at its Prime Video business.

Prior to that, Hedges worked for Tesco, starting off as Head of Technology Strategy and Enterprise Architecture and then moving onto the role of Engineering Director - Customer. His CV also includes stints at Betfair and Capgemini.

“It has been a wonderful adventure and learning experience for me at Amazon. I’m very proud of the team I built there and I know they are in capable hands. I’m certainly going to miss seeing the next set of steps they will take,” he said in a LinkedIn post. 

“I owe thanks to many Amazonians for their time, insight and patience, too many people to list. However, new opportunities come along and the next one for me was just too exciting to turn down.”
