Dolly switches on contactless delivery during coronavirus pandemic

US-based last mile delivery company Dolly has launched a no contact delivery option to help customers impacted by the coronavirus.

The venture will load, transport and drop off designated items in a pre-arranged location outside homes, such as a garage, porch, or building lobby.

Thus far, Dolly has performed no contact deliveries from The Container Store, Big Lots!, and ArtVan, in markets such as Chicago, Cleveland, Dallas, Denver, Miami, Philadelphia, Phoenix, San Diego, Tampa, and Washington D.C. Items delivered include custom closets, mattresses, bed frames, and couches/recliners.

The venture launched in 2014 and last year snagged $7.5 million to fund expansion of its same day delivery service. Unlock Venture Partners led the round with support from original investors, Maveron and Jeff Wilke, CEO, Amazon Worldwide Consumer. This took the total amount raised by the startup to $20+ million.
