Six stand out retail technology funding rounds

RTIH rounds up the retail technology ventures who have been making waves with major investments.

1. Ada

AI-powered customer service chatbot startup Ada has raised $44 million in a Series B funding round led by Accel.

2. Bringg

Tel Aviv-based startup called Bringg, which helps companies build and run delivery operations, has announced a $30 million Series D round.

3. vendi

London-based startup vendi has closed its first funding round, pulling in £600,000.

The venture was founded in 2018 by ex-Cisco employees Anil Rao, CTO, and Pablo Gonzalez-Iglesias, CEO. It has developed an AI-assisted peer-to-peer marketplace for people to buy and sell verified tech products.

4. Phos

Phos, a UK venture that offers a software-only PoS enabling merchants to accept payments directly on their phones without the need for additional hardware, has raised €1.3 million in funding. 

5. BigBasket

Indian grocery startup BigBasket has snagged $60 million as it scales its business in the country to meet growing demand from customers under coronavirus lockdown. Alibaba and other existing investors including Mirae Asset and CDC Group participated in the bridge round.

6. Mighty Jaxx

Mighty Jaxx, which makes licensed collectibles, has landed 4.5 million Singapore dollars in funding for MightyVerse, its platform for tech-enabled figures.
