Nigella Lawson just summed up all our online delivery woes

Here at RTIH, we’re big fans of food writer, chef and cooking show host Nigella Lawson. And we love her even more after she voiced her frustration at a failed online delivery, with a coronavirus twist.

“I haven’t left the house since mid March, and I’ve just had a card put through my letter box saying, we tried to deliver your parcel but you were out,” she tweeted yesterday.

“He didn’t ring the bell! I have since found out that this particular driver has form. Not naming the company as the person I spoke to on the phone was getting stressed about it and tried their best,” she added.

“And I should say that it wasn’t Royal Mail. I have the world’s loveliest postman!”

Cue a flurry of people playing ‘guess the rubbish delivery firm’. “My money’s on Hermes. Not expecting a confirmation, but it’s Hermes,” said one. “Had that twice with DPD,” another commented.

There was also criticism of the Post Office. “Well...my postman...who is usually awesome...Threw my package at me! Just last week. He takes social distancing seriously!” one person quipped

Nigella is, of course, too classy to name names, but, after various bad experiences down the years, we’re placing our bets on Hermes.
