Wagamama announces wok from home online classes
Wagamama is launching online tutorials to help customers get their katsu curry and yaki soba fix during the coronavirus outbreak.
“We’ve come up with a cooking show starring our executive chef, Steve Mangleshot, who hasn’t gone this long without cooking our food since he started at Wagamama 20 years ago,” the retailer said in a LinkedIn post.
“We’re calling it ‘wok from home’ and, yes, we’re absolutely making it up as we go along. Could be great, could be terrible, but it’s going to be fun nonetheless.”
Wagamama will be opening up its recipe book and teaching Brits how to cook some of its most popular dishes, including katsu curry and yaki soba. Episodes will be shared every Wednesday and Friday at 6pm on IGTV, Facebook and YouTube.
“The production value might not be up to our usual standard as it will be shot on an iPhone 11, but to be honest we’re making this up as we go along. My wife is the producer/director and my kids are the sous chefs. So it’s gonna be interesting,” said Mangleshot.
