Asda teams with StarStock for Food Boxes initiative
StarStock is powering a new initiative from Asda to help vulnerable and shielded customers receive food and essential items.
Closely following the launch of the former’s mypubshop platform, foodboxes.asda.com provides access to the supermarket’s new Cupboard Filler box.
For £30, customers will receive up to 31 items, including supplies that have been in high demand amid the coronavirus pandemic, such as cereal, bread, pasta, tinned fruit and vegetables, sauces, jam, teabags and long-life milk. A selection of treats is also included.
Asda is also working with StarStock and a logistics partner to fulfil deliveries within two days of the customer’s order, without affecting its existing home shopping service.
Mike Snell, Managing Director of Asda’s sourcing and procurement arm, IPL, says: “For vulnerable people across the country, staying at home and not being able to make a trip to the supermarket is a difficult prospect.”
“At Asda, we’re committed to helping ease the strain on our customers during this time and hope that by offering our food box at an affordable price, we can help to make lives that little bit easier, giving people peace of mind that their cupboards will be well stocked without the stress.”
