Pricer announces PLUS Retail ESL deal
Dutch co-operative supermarket chain PLUS Retail is set to deploy Pricer’s electronic shelf label (ESL) platform across its store estate.
The retailer has more than 265 supermarkets across The Netherlands.
“We look forward to supporting PLUS Retail in optimising its store operations and improving the customer experience by using both cloud-based services as well as innovative shelf-technology,” says Helena Holmgren, CEO at Pricer.

Last month, Pricer announced a modified roll-out schedule and reduced order value for its Best Buy ESL project.
In December 2019 and February this year, the Swedish venture received orders from Best Buy to equip nearly 680 stores in the USA with its ESL system during 2020 at a value of around 925 million SEK.
With the coronavirus outbreak placing constraints on Best Buy’s bricks and mortar business, the two have come to an agreement to reduce the scope of the project by 150 stores and to delay the delivery of 40 stores into 2021. The revised project value is estimated to be 820 million SEK.
“Given these extraordinary circumstances, we have slowed the installation of electronic signs in our stores”, says Brian Tilzer, Chief Digital and Technology Officer at Best Buy. “The electronic signs we have in some stores are improving experience for employees and customers, and we look forward to expanding this impact as we deploy this technology more broadly in our chain in the future.”
