The Co-op invites shoppers to virtual wine events
Chin chin! The Co-op will shortly be hosting a series of free online events, where its wine buyers and suppliers will provide the stories behind various wines and how to create the perfect food pairings.
The retailer’s experts will also answer any questions shoppers might have along the way.
The first event will take place on Monday, 27th July, with a second on Thursday, 30th July, a third on Monday, 10th August and a fourth on Wednesday, 12th August. We’ll raise a glass to that!
John Lewis tie up
John Lewis recently said that its Click & Collect delivery and returns service would be available in over 500 Co-op food stores by the end of the summer.
The two started working together last year. The latest move will see the total number of John Lewis Partnership Click & Collect locations increase to nearly 900 - double the number currently available in the UK.
Andrew Murphy, Partner & Executive Director of Operations at the John Lewis Partnership, said: “Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, we’ve seen a significant shift to online shopping and expect this trend to continue. “
“As a result, we are dedicated to providing more choice when it comes to how our customers receive their purchases, helping our customers shop how and when they want us. This includes providing more locations for collection and returns for online shopping.”
Mark Matthews, Director of Innovation and Format, Co-op, commented: “With our stores located at the heart of local communities, choice, ease and convenience is at the very core of our approach.”
“We continue to look for new ways to innovate and expand access to products and services conveniently - by working together we can offer further flexibility and choice to meet consumer needs locally.”
The roll-out of the Click & Collect service to additional Co-op food stores started in July and is expected to be complete during September. 400 new ones are to be added to the 105 existing locations. Customers can also access John Lewis Click & Collect at all 50 John Lewis shops, 326 Waitrose branches and 12 Booths locations across the country.
