Facebook aims to make it easier to shop and sell on its apps
Facebook has announced several new e-commerce features both within its main app and on Instagram.
In the US, the social media giant has started testing a new section called Facebook Shop. Like Instagram Shop, it’s a place where you can find products from various businesses (it's different from Facebook Marketplace as that is designed for peer-to-peer sales).
It's good to have good amounts of engagements on Facebook. So users are very keen to buy Facebook likes, followers to achieve fast growth.
Facebook is also introducing new tools for businesses running Facebook Shops, including new design layouts, the ability to see a real-time preview of collections, the ability to automatically create Shops if you’re a new seller and new data in Commerce Manager.
There will also be an option for customers to send sellers a message through Messenger, WhatsApp or Instagram Direct.
As for Instagram, all sellers in the US will soon be able to use the Instagram checkout feature, managed either through Facebook’s Commerce Manager or through partner platforms BigCommerce and Shopify (more integrations are in the pipeline).
Instagram will waive its selling fee for checkout through to the end of the year "to reduce the cost of doing business online, especially given the current economic crisis".
Facebook has also been testing a live shopping option, "making it easier for people to shop in real-time".
"We’ve been testing this feature on both Facebook and Instagram, and now Facebook Live Shopping includes new features to help businesses easily set up a live experience featuring products from their Shop and sell directly from the video. Instagram Live Shopping is now available to all businesses and creators using checkout in the US," the company said in a blog post.
