Orlando Machado takes on key data role at LEGO Group

Orlando Machado is joining the LEGO Group as Chief Data Officer.

He was most recently Group Chief Data Scientist at Aviva where he created a global data science practice (Aviva Quantum) working across 16 countries.

He remains a Non Executive Director for Cambridge University Press & Assessment Board.

Prior to Aviva, Machado was for four years Chief Data Scientist at MoneySuperMarket. He started out in academia after which he worked at the BBC for a couple of years, and then moved to Wunderman, part of WPP.

After a few years, he moved to dunnhumby, where he ran the UK analytics and insight teams for Tesco and other clients.

Atul Bhardwaj 

In October of last year, the LEGO Group appointed Atul Bhardwaj as Executive Vice President and Chief Digital & Technology Officer.

Bhardwaj joined from German consumer electronics retailer MediaMarktSaturn, where he was Executive Vice President of Logistics and Chief Technology Officer. Prior to that, he was Chief Information Officer at Tesco.

He has also served as a partner at management consultancy, Accenture. Bhardwaj is responsible for overseeing the LEGO Group’s digital transformation strategy.
