Tesco veteran Mike Yorwerth takes on CTO role at Marks and Spencer

Mike Yorwerth has joined Marks and Spencer as Chief Technology Officer.

Yorwerth previously worked at Bunzl as Group Chief Information Officer.

Prior to that, he spent almost 18 years at Tesco, holding such positions as Chief Architect and Technology Director and Group Technology and Architecture Director.

“I've had a great 18 months at Bunzl, working with the leadership team on their digital transformation amid the challenges of the global pandemic, and it has been a tremendous learning opportunity for which I am very thankful,” Yorwerth said in a LinkedIn post.

“As a life-long fan of M&S, I want to help make it the special retailer I know it can be and to continue the transformation to a digital-first business, relentlessly focussed on being brilliant for customers.”

Stuart Ramage

Marks and Spencer’s recent digital transformation efforts also include Stuart Ramage coming onboard as Head of Digital Strategy & Innovation.

He joined from Dixons Carphone where he held the position of E-commerce Director.

“After 21 fantastic years at Dixons Carphone and a bit of well-earned family time over the last few months, I'm absolutely thrilled to be starting at Marks and Spencer,” Ramage commented.

“I can't wait to get started in the Digital & Data function with Jeremy Pee (Chief Digital and Data Officer) and team driving one of the biggest digital transformations in the UK.”
