Sex with Cancer online store and resource goes live
Artists and former cancer patients, Brian Lobel and Joon-Lynn Go, have formed a partnership with Sh! Women’s’ Erotic Emporium to launch what is pitched as the UK’s first online sex shop, designed by and for people living with and beyond cancer.
Sex with Cancer goes live today, with a selection of products that have been specifically curated to be an answer to the specific sexual challenges relating to cancer. These are available here.
Lobel and Goh have collaborated with a steering group of patient advocates, specialist doctors and nurses, psychosexual therapists, pleasure activists and sex toy experts.
Sex with Cancer also features new commissioned artworks that aim to open up the conversation around illness, intimacy and agency.

The website showcases an online performance, a visual artwork, a documentary film, a zine and an essay and also the The Sex with Cancer Conversation Competency Certification Course.
The latter has been created by Lobel and inspired by health and safety training videos, with the aim of helping people get better at having difficult conversations.
The venture’s partner, Sh! Women's Erotic Emporium, has a shop in the east end of London, and also sells online. It was started in 1992 by Kathryn Hoyle and Sophie Walters.
