X5 Group pilots Jam Perekrestok small store format
Russian food retailer, X5 Group, is piloting a new store format for its Perekrestok supermarkets with a floor area of less than 300 sq m and a limited product range featuring its bestselling products.
The Jam Perekrestok stores will be located within walking distance of offices and residential buildings.
The first one has already opened in Moscow, with two more set to be piloted in St Petersburg before the end of 2021.
The pilot store has a café area, as well as Wi-Fi and charging stations for customer use.
It features self-checkouts and has containers to collect batteries and plastic bags for recycling.
A 30-minute express delivery service is available to those living within 1 km of Perekrestok Jam locations via the Perekrestok mobile app.
X5 has announced the declaration of an interim dividend for 9M 2021 in the amount of RUB 20 billion, or RUB 73.65 per GDR. The record date for the dividend payment has been set as 17 December 2021 https://t.co/5TeA7487cb

X5 has another four store openings scheduled in Moscow for early 2022, and says that there is further potential for scale-up of the project.
Vladislav Kurbatov, General Director at Perekrestok, says: “This new format offers customers their favourite products in locations that could not otherwise accommodate a regular Perekrestok supermarket.”
“A wide assortment of fresh and ready-to-eat foods, coffee, a café, and charging stations is what residents of major cities want to enjoy their routine shopping and save time.”
