Lidl Sweden deploys first all electric truck from Einride

Einride and Lidl Sweden are commencing operation of a warehouse to store electric transport system that has been in development since April of last year.

All electric trucks will operate from Rosersberg outside Stockholm.

Equipped with Einride's control and monitoring software, they will travel 324 km per day, making deliveries to five stores in the Stockholm region, with an average of 104 pallets per store.

“We intend to be the industry leader for sustainable and fossil-free transport by 2025, and our first all electric truck from Einride is just the start of a major transformation,” says Carl Ceder, Logistics Manager at Lidl Sweden.

“In the coming years we hope to be able to increase the proportion of intelligent, electric freight significantly.”

“With electrified transports - in combination with new solutions for cooperation, planning and digitisation - we expect to be able to reduce both costs and environmental impact.”
