Online grocery startup Everli announces major $100m Series C round

European e-grocery marketplace, Everli, has raised $100 million in a Series C funding round led by Verlinvest.

The startup, which was previously known as Supermercato24, will use the cash to accelerate growth and expand its international footprint.

Founded in 2014, Everli lets customers order from local supermarkets for delivery.

It says that it works with some of Europe’s largest grocery brands, offering access to over 300,000 products across 70 cities.

Getir

Last week, Getir, a Turkish grocery delivery startup, completed a $300 million Series C funding round, led by Sequoia Capital and repeat investor Tiger Global.

This closely followed a $128 million Series B round and valued the company at $2.6 billion.

Launched five and a half years ago, Getir arrived in London in January and is looking to expand its operations to Germany, France and the Netherlands in the coming months.

It also has its sights set on Brazil once the spread of the coronavirus settles.
