Sonae MC seeks disruptive retail technology startups
Portuguese retailer Sonae MC is launching another edition of its Disrupt Retail - Call for Tech programme.
It is looking for startups who have developed retail tech solutions in areas like store operations, logistics, customer experience, and e-commerce.
“From last year's edition we developed five PoCs/pilots and ended up adopting two of the solutions while the other two are finishing trials,” a Sonae MC spokesperson told RTIH.
“This clearly shows the great impact that an initiative like this has both for the corporate and the startup.”

Sellforte
Sonae IM, the technology investment arm of Sonae Group, participated in Helsinki-based marketing campaign analytics startup Sellforte’s recent $4.78 million funding round.
“Sellforte is disrupting a sizeable market controlled by services driven offerings with a top notch AI driven product,” said Miguel Bagulho, Investment Director at Sonae IM.
“The core team has strong capabilities to be able to deliver the ambitious goal of growing internationally in large sectors such as retail, telecom, and FMCG.”
“We were impressed by the ability to return exponential growth in a highly difficult context, which demonstrated the real need to measure the ROI of marketing campaigns.”
