Five retail technology appointments you need to know about

1. Michelle Kearns to Boots Ireland
Boots has brought in Michelle Kearns as Head of IT, Ireland.
Kearns was previously Chief Information Officer at Caredoc.
She is also the founder of One HealthTech Ireland, a network that supports and promotes women and other underrepresented groups in health innovation.
2. Angela Maurer to The LEGO Group
Angela Maurer has joined The LEGO Group as Head of Digital Product.
“Can’t wait to play my part in inspiring and developing the builders of tomorrow!” she said in a LinkedIn post.
Maurer previously worked at Landsec, holding the position of Head of Innovation.
Prior to that, she spent over 18 years at Tesco, where she founded and led the grocery giant’s R&D arm Tesco Labs. (Jo Hickson replaced her when she moved on to Landsec).
3. Libby Kinsey to Ocado Technology
Libby Kinsey has joined Ocado Technology as Head of Data Science Strategy and Operations.
Ocado Technology is, to quote the company’s Twitter bio, “powering the future of online retail through disruptive innovation in robotics and IoT, cloud platforms, Big Data, AI, software development, and beyond”.
It is best know for the Ocado Smart Platform, an e-commerce, fulfilment and logistics platform.
Kinsey is the Co-founder of Project Juno, which focuses on machine intelligence startups and capital.
She has also worked with Digital Catapult, first as a consultant, then maternity cover as Head of Technology and Lead Technologist for Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.
4. Justin King to Snappy Group
Former Sainsbury’s CEO Justin King has taken a “significant” stake in grocery delivery app Snappy Shopper.
He is also set to join the Snappy Group’s board as Non-Executive Director following a recently launched Series A funding round.
Snappy Group is formed of two businesses: Snappy Shopper and Hungrrr.
5. Paul Suarez to Casey’s General Stores
Convenience retailer Casey’s General Stores has hired Paul Suarez for the newly created role of Chief Information Security Officer.
Suarez most recently served as the CISO at Walmart.
